Scam Alert: Rental Assistance Fraud Warning

Important Notice from Another Chance of Atlanta, Inc.

Our agency has been notified of a rental assistance scam targeting individuals and families in need of support. Scammers are attempting to use our name and logo to trick people into sharing personal information or believing they qualify for COVID-19 rental assistance.

Please note: We are NOT offering COVID-19 rental assistance funds.

  • Email: All staff emails will always end with @anotherchanceofatlanta.org
  • We do not use Outlook, Gmail, Yahoo, or any other personal email services.

If you receive any suspicious communication, please forward it to info@anotherchanceofatlanta.org so that we may investigate.

Protect Yourself – What We Will NEVER Do

To help you recognize scams, please be aware of the following:

  • We will NEVER solicit or contact you first about rental assistance. A staff member will always meet with you in person to complete an assessment.
  • We will NEVER send you an application for rental assistance.
  • We will NEVER promise or state a dollar amount of assistance you can receive.
  • We will NEVER ask you to reach out to your property manager. Our staff will contact them directly.
  • We will NEVER text you to request information.
  • We will NEVER ask you to send personal information by email or text message.

What to Do if You Suspect a Scam

  • Do not respond to the suspicious message or call.
  • Do not share personal, financial, or housing information.
  • Report suspicious contact to us immediately at info@anotherchanceofatlanta.org.
